The Equation about sarcopenia and osteopenia that Nobody Ever Explained to You – and why it costs you years of your life.

Read this first.

Today I wish someone had handed me something like this at 18. The people who taught me had a real impact, but the times were different. I promised myself that if I ever got to a point where I could pass on what I’ve learned, I wouldn’t say what was said to me: „Just do it and stop commenting so much.”

Back then there was no free access to knowledge. Real understanding was almost a secret.

And coming back to muscle and augmentation, the principles haven’t changed much. With the information in this article, with the principles described here, it could have been done back then too. The world isn’t different — only the technology is, and that often works against you if you don’t understand what you’re doing. That’s why I spent so much effort trying to understand the principles and the code behind it.

There’s no man on this planet who doesn’t want muscle. If you don’t, it means you haven’t understood basic biology, and I think it’s time you learned a bit about the body you use every single day. You don’t have another one. It’s the only one you get.

If you have the patience to read, you probably don’t need me much — or maybe just a little. That’s the position I’m writing from, and it isn’t an easy one. It’s actually vulnerable.

But 90% of the people trying to build, or even just preserve, muscle mass haven’t understood that there are TWO conditions that must be met simultaneously. One alone doesn’t work. That’s the secret.

Condition 1: The signal, or the order. The muscle has to RECEIVE the order to grow — a specific, threshold neural impulse that activates the fibers that actually matter. Without the right signal, the building materials just sit in storage.

Condition 2: The materials. Essential amino acids, especially leucine, in sufficient quantity and the correct form. Without them, the signal reaches the cell, but the cell ignores you. Fair enough — it has nothing to build with, nothing to execute the order.

When you have both, at the same time — the magic happens. This isn’t a metaphor. It isn’t marketing. These things can be verified with DEXA or other scanning systems.

Part One: The Problem We Ignore — and Which Keeps Getting Worse

I sabotaged my own muscle growth and training pretty early on. Around 21. I tried to lift a car with brute force to get a jack under a wheel I was changing after a flat. I blew out a disc in my back and ended up crawling on all fours. For years I found excuses not to train, telling myself my spine was too fragile. But muscle has a different story — one I rediscovered at 50.

I refused to believe I was too stupid to find a way to rebuild it. And I found one. It’s not easy, but it isn’t impossible either. First, though, let’s understand the principles.

Muscle has no plateau condition — it either grows or it shrinks. It’s entirely up to us to maintain the right state. On top of that, muscle is also an energy reserve for hard times or scarcity. It can be broken down into sugar and amino groups to be used in special conditions, as a backup source. So this isn’t a situation to treat with a shrug and a „good enough.” The problem is severe worldwide, and that’s exactly why I focused my attention and effort on finding a real, concrete solution. In my view, muscle wasting is slow death.

There’s a statistic you need to know, and one the medical system treats with a lack of urgency that’s hard to understand:

SCIENTIFIC CONFIRMATION

Sarcopenia — the progressive loss of muscle mass and muscle function — affects 5–13% of the population aged 60–70 and escalates to 11–50% in people over 80. The accelerated decline in muscle mass begins, according to consistent data, around age 50, with strength decline following around 65.

Muscle mass drops by roughly 6% per decade after midlife. At the population level, sarcopenia affects 10–16% of older adults — figures that worsen every year and increasingly reach younger age groups.

Sarcopenia prevalence rises from 5% at ages 65–69 to 36% at ages 85–89.

And now here’s the question nobody asks loudly enough: why does muscle matter this much?

We are genetically wired for movement. Two million years of optimization toward muscular use — hunters, warriors, farmers. At the genetic level, the human body is aimed at muscle. And now we’re systematically losing it starting at 30. Sometimes even earlier.

The simple answer: we eat badly, too much, and for no good reason. On top of that, we barely move. But that’s the surface. Underneath — and this is what I’ll explain in detail — there’s a two-variable equation. If you don’t satisfy both at once, you can eat all the protein you want and hit the gym five times a week, and you’ll still lose.

Sarcopenia and osteopenia aren’t 2 separate conditions. They’re 2 symptoms of the SAME incomplete equation. Whoever understands that has already won half the battle.

We obsess over bone density as if it were the most important factor, when it’s actually secondary.

Friend, I’m not telling you this to sound smart. I woke up late, but at least I woke up.

Muscle isn’t just muscle — it’s a complex organ responsible for survival, development, command, and a lot more.

Here’s a paradox:

Bone = 60% collagen = amino acids. Only 40% is a mineral mix. Muscle generates an electromagnetic field during contraction/relaxation. That field triggers the activity of the cells that produce bone densification. No muscle → no electromagnetic field → no field, no increase in bone density. That’s physics, not philosophy.

When I explain this to people, with the same childlike enthusiasm and the desire to share something I discovered, I see it in their eyes — they treat me like a charlatan. And the ones who get past that and actually apply it end up putting me in a different, equally wrong position: some kind of superhuman. Two extremes I don’t belong in and don’t accept. I’ll stay somewhere in the middle and keep doing my work. That’s it.

Part Two: Why What You’re Doing Right Now Isn’t Working — The Protein Myth

„Eat more protein.” You’ve heard that a thousand times. And maybe you even do. And yet — muscle doesn’t grow, bones keep thinning, recovery takes longer and longer.

It’s not protein’s fault. It’s the fault of what you don’t know about it.

I can’t possibly cover every detail and every biohack here, but let’s at least tackle the foundation.

Cells don’t eat protein.

SCIENTIFIC CONFIRMATION

The human body doesn’t absorb protein as such. It breaks it down into amino acids, which it then uses. The utilization rate of amino acids (AAU — Amino Acid Utilization) from ordinary dietary protein: meat — 17–25%; egg — ~37%. That means if you eat 100g of protein, your body actually extracts and uses a maximum of 25–37g of it. The rest becomes energy or is eliminated.

The problem worsens after 50: older adults experience „anabolic resistance” — the ability to respond to the leucine signal decreases. The leucine threshold needed per meal for maximal mTOR pathway activation rises from 2–2.5g (younger adults) to 3–4g in people over 60. That threshold is most often never reached.

Add to that the fact that today’s food system runs on an excess of carbs and sugar → systemic acidity → inflammation → blocked intestinal absorption → even fewer available amino acids. Even if you’re eating „clean.” The barrier isn’t what goes into your mouth. It’s what actually reaches the cell.

I ran on that same excuse for decades. It’s not about sugar and fat. Those are just fuel. It’s about amino acids. And if you don’t have what you need, what do you think happens?

Result: you eat protein (poor utilization, poor methylation), you don’t absorb amino acids, muscle never gets the materials, you don’t build. Year after year.

And that’s without even counting inflammation. Because if your house is on fire, you don’t calmly build another room. Logically, you put the fire out first. Then you get to reconstruction and augmentation.

Part Three: The Equation — Signal and Materials

Let’s simplify everything that exists around muscle and bone building down to what actually matters. I have no patience for complicated when simple exists. And simple, in this case, is devastatingly effective.

Signal + Materials = Magic

That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Nothing more to it. Every gram of muscle I’ve gained — and I’m talking about 900–1,200g a month, verified by DEXA scan or metabolic scanning equipment — comes from respecting this equation. Exactly that, and nothing else.

I can feel your mind rebelling right now, ready to close this article. Fair enough.

This isn’t the kind of article you see all over social media, keeping you hooked through some clever narrative just so it can end with: hit like, subscribe.

Funny enough, I’m actually giving you the solution, the algorithm, the principle. All you have to do is read.

And if you read it, you’ll read it again, because I guarantee you won’t find information like this anywhere else online. Funny thing is, I’ve already checked — I have AI. Claude is with me. It helps me. We assemble fragments of knowledge into simple solutions. This AI is genuinely brilliant.

Factor 1: The Signal — The Order the Muscle Has to Receive

You need to know that muscle doesn’t grow from motivation. It doesn’t grow because you nicely ask it to. I’m telling you. It’ll ignore you, gracefully.

It’s lazy, it’s comfortable. Just like your mind, which never tires of doing nothing. It forgot the rush of endorphins a real workout gives, settling instead for a second-hand feeling that pumps out a small hit of dopamine.

Second-hand drug. I don’t settle for it. It’s fine for mediocrity. I stayed in that zone for decades.

Today I can’t afford to.

Muscle doesn’t grow from how many hours you spend at the gym. It doesn’t even grow from how much weight you lift. Muscle grows when it receives the correct neural signal — a threshold impulse that activates type II fibers, the ones actually responsible for hypertrophy.

Classic training doesn’t consistently generate that signal. Why? Because in classic dynamic training (weights, reps), a large part of the effort is absorbed by the momentum of the movement itself. The muscle isn’t forced to recruit 100% of its fibers at maximum tension. Why would it?

Is a lion chasing you? Are you starving if you don’t sprint fast enough to catch a deer?

No, friend. Fridges are full of food, and delivery services are at your beck and call, ready to bring whatever your heart — pardon, your stomach — desires.

Food is everywhere. For the right price, of course. Starting to see it?

Muscle has no reason to push itself. It’s a matter of resource conservation. Becoming a super-human isn’t as easy as people make it sound, because it takes a lot of work, discipline, and resources.

Isometric training under 2 milliseconds — the Under-2ms system I developed and tested on myself and on clients — generates that specific threshold neural impulse. Think isometric training costs you more, that it’s more destructive?

Wrong.

It costs you laziness. It costs you comfort. Oh yes, it’ll definitely cost you if you listen to me, but you’ll be surprised how much easier it is than it looks. The paradox you need to reconcile as fast as possible is about options.

You’re not going to do what I’m telling you, because you still think you have options.

I used to think the same, until I ran out of options. Same thing happened to me.

A bonus nobody ever mentions: isometric training doesn’t produce the joint impact that dynamic training does. 15–20 minutes a day, no gym, no expensive equipment, no knees wrecked after 10 years of heavy squats.

Factor 2: The Materials — The Amino Acids That Execute the Order

You have the signal. The muscle got the order. Now it’s looking for building materials. If it can’t find them — the order goes unexecuted. Exactly like a foreman who gave the order, the workers are ready, but the bricks never showed up.

The bricks are the essential amino acids. And the spearhead is leucine.

SCIENTIFIC CONFIRMATION

Leucine acts as the „ignition key” for muscle protein synthesis. The leucine threshold per meal for maximal mTORC1 pathway activation: 2–2.5g in adults under 50; 3–4g in adults over 50, due to anabolic resistance. Below that threshold, the anabolic signal stays sub-threshold — there’s stimulation, but not enough for a full synthetic response.

Leucine doesn’t work alone: it functions best as a signaling molecule when the full spectrum of essential amino acids (EAA) is present. Isolated leucine can trigger the signal, but without the other essential amino acids, the body can’t complete the protein synthesis process.

My Data — What Scan Shows

I didn’t train for hypertrophy until 50. It wasn’t the priority. I had other things to deal with.

Now I don’t have that option anymore. Logical.

After 50, I decided to test it. I studied, worked out the equation — isometric signal + the right amino acids, correctly dosed — and I measured. Not by eye, not with a tape measure — with metabolic scanning equipment.

The results: 900–1,200g of muscle mass per month. Verified. The official average from classic studies: 300–500g for a beginner, under ideal conditions (5 sessions/week, high volume, clinically monitored). Under 200g for intermediates. Under 100g for advanced trainees.

The official average muscle gain for beginners is around 1–1.5% of body weight per month as lean mass in the first year of training, under ideal conditions — equivalent to 450–700g/month for a 70kg person, with 5 weekly sessions, high volume, and clinical monitoring. One study on untrained subjects (5 days/week, 90-minute sessions in a controlled setting) recorded 2 kg/month — the upper limit reported under extreme monitoring conditions.

For intermediate and advanced trainees: 0.25–0.75 lbs/month (113–340g). Below that rate, gains stop being measurable monthly, even with DEXA.

This is the protocol I follow and the one I’ve tested. It’s not a „universal recipe” — it’s the stacking logic I adjust depending on training phase and the person involved. But the principles stay fixed.

The Signal

Under-2ms isometric training, 15–20 minutes a day, hitting the major muscle groups. Maximum contraction, ballistic intent. No complex equipment. Can be done at home. Progressive — you add resistance as strength increases.

The Materials (per training day)

Complete EAA (Thot Aminos): 6–8g — all 9 essential amino acids, orthomolecular form. Before or after training.

Extra leucine: 5–8g total per day (including what’s already in the EAA). For a 75kg body, on training days — up to 8g. Leucine is expensive and rare in a clean plant-based form. Check your source.

Lysine: present in complete EAA — essential for collagen and, by extension, for bone. 60% of bone = collagen. Lysine + vitamin C = the collagen your body produces internally, at 95–98% AAU.

Creatine: 5–10g/day — but taken with fat (butter, coconut oil), NOT on an empty stomach. Reason: creatine on an empty stomach → glycemic spike (tested personally: 145mg/dL vs under 90 with fat). Insulin is a catalyst, not the enemy — but an uncontrolled spike creates resistance.

Amplifiers (optional, for advanced protocols)

NOx boosters — citrulline/arginine: 3–6g — vasodilation, better nutrient delivery to muscle.

Caffeine: 50–100mg pre-workout — free fatty acid mobilization + neuromuscular performance.

Faster metabolism: the more muscle mass you have, the more efficiently you burn off excess glucose. Muscle is the biggest calorie consumer in the body. More muscle → faster metabolism → fat stops piling on the same way. Not magic. Metabolic physics.

Protected joints: spinal discs fail exactly when the paravertebral muscles give out. Joints fail when the muscles supporting them fail. There’s no supplement that fixes a herniated disc. There’s muscle that prevents the herniation in the first place.

Blood sugar regulation: muscle tissue absorbs glucose from the blood. The more muscle you have, the better your system handles carbohydrates. Insulin resistance drops. Type 2 diabetes risk drops.

Neurotransmitters and mood: tryptophan (one of the 9 EAAs) is the precursor to serotonin and melatonin. Leucine crosses the blood-brain barrier (a molecule under 500 Daltons). Amino acids don’t just reach muscle — they reach the brain too.

You should start paying attention from 35–40 — not because it’s an emergency, but because it’s far easier to prevent than to recover from.

How are sarcopenia and osteopenia connected?

They aren’t separate conditions. Muscle generates an electromagnetic field during contraction that triggers bone densification. No muscle → no field → no bone. Bone is 60% collagen, meaning it’s also amino acids. Same building materials. Same solution.

How much leucine do I need per day to build muscle?

A minimum of 2.5–3g per meal for adults under 50. 3–4g per meal for adults over 50, due to anabolic resistance. Daily total on training days: 5–8g (including the leucine already in complete EAA). Below threshold, mTOR doesn’t fully activate — muscle building stays partial.

Why does isometric training work better for hypertrophy?

Classic dynamic training loses part of its effort to the momentum of the movement itself. Isometric training at maximum tension recruits 100% of available muscle fibers, especially type II fibers with the highest growth potential. It produces the same neural signal in less time, without joint impact.

Can I take EAA while intermittent fasting?

Yes. Free-form amino acids don’t trigger the full digestive response of a meal, don’t interrupt autophagy, and don’t cancel out the metabolic benefits of fasting. They’re usable both inside and outside your eating window, with no metabolic tradeoff.

How do I take creatine correctly without a glycemic spike?

With fat, not on an empty stomach. Creatine on an empty stomach can cause a glycemic spike (tested personally: 145mg/dL vs under 90mg/dL with fat). A bit of butter, coconut oil, or a meal with fat beforehand eliminates the issue. How you take it matters just as much as the dose.

How much vitamin D3 do I need?

60% of adults are deficient. Vitamin D from sunlight isn’t the same as vitamin D you swallow — it’s not the same mechanism. A commonly recommended dose for marked deficiency: 5,000–10,000 IU/day, paired with vitamin K2 for maximum efficiency and to direct calcium toward bone, not arteries.

How long until I see the first visible results?

With the complete protocol (isometric signal + correctly dosed EAA + the necessary vitamins): first strength differences — 2–3 weeks. Visible muscle mass — 4–6 weeks. Bone density (measurable via DEXA) — 3–6 months. The most dramatic results show up in people with the largest starting deficit — more to recover, faster it shows.
